36 Days of VHS Type

36 Days of Type invites creatives from all fields to express their own unique visual style through the medium of 26 letters & 10 digits.
For the 2019 @36daysoftype I reimagined 36 of your favourite blank VHS covers as letterforms because I'm a nostalgic loser.⁣

The VHS format was first released in Japan on September 9, 1976, causing a significant shift in marketing for the film industry, and forever changing the audience's idea of the 'cinema experience'. Its decline in popularity began some 20 years later with the introduction of DVD, and it eventually fell into complete obsolescence, with the last major-release occurring in 2006.⁣
I was first introduced to the world on September 9, 1993, but unlike the VHS, I have not yet been killed by a younger, more efficient version of myself. Though I suppose I'm about due.⁣
